About the CSULB American Language Institute

The American Language Institute (ALI) is an intensive English language program at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), operated through the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE). One of the first CEA-accredited Intensive English Programs in California, the ALI has been serving international students for more than 30 years and has hosted students from over 55 countries. Programs include the Intensive English Program (IEP), English Language and American Culture, MBA Prep, Intensive Preparatory Program, TEFL Certificate, and customized group programs. F-1 students who complete the IEP are eligible for conditional admission pathways to CSULB degree programs and to partner colleges including El Camino College, Long Beach City College, Mt. San Antonio College, and Orange Coast College.
